And today the veterans are told to remove the Gadsden flag because SOME people might be offended. Someone should be reminded of the history of the flag first. It is way older than anyone objecting. The Gadsden flag goes back to the days when our forefathers waged war for the freedom to fly it in peace. What gives a few the option to rewrite history. New Rochelle, DON’T CAVE! DON’T LET THEM TREAD ON YOU (US).

Thank you Sergeant, for your service to our Country, and for your thoughts on the Armory. From World War II to Desert Storm, members of our Armed Forces have deployed from this very building. As you said, what better place could there be to not only to honor, but to support those who have served. Connecting future generations with our history to let them understand the cost of freedom. As a New Rochelle resident and active duty U.S. Marine, I support this proposal. I think keeping the armory serving the community and honoring our veterans couldn’t be a better plan for usage of the armory. I wish I had more free time to be apart of anything possible to support veterans affairs in our community.

I agree with you that the Armory should be used for the community and that the “drill deck” can lend itself to different venues. Do you think there is a community facility that can occupy a portion or majority of the armory and pay a fair market rental rate?
